WEST MEETS EAST!!

ADELINE  wanted a birthday gift for her niece... I suggested a name plaque, something useful and pretty that can be used to "mark" her work territory. But I did not want it to be all my work..... how?
Brainwave #1! Adeline's an accomplished Chinese calligrapher.... so I thought... why not include her Chinese work in it too? Hmmmmmm....
Brainwave #2! Three hangings, three chinese name characters....
Brainwave #3! Adeline came over with her Writings paraphernalia... woohoo! So N-ICEEEEE.....
One prob, her ink's not permanent and I do like my stuffs to be lasting...... HOW?
Now this is really really cool.... I had this Versamark Watermark pen that I had bought but not used AND it's has a brush tip! I got her to do the chinese characters on the pretty paper she bought from Japan.... "sand" with black embossing powder and melt/heat set it. IT TURNED OUT GOOOORGEOUS!! LOLS! Adeline is EXCITED about this new medium for Chinese Calligraphy. To celebrate this new invention, I've given her my Versamark pen..... You Go Girl... paint the calligraphy world red!! (sorry... in one of my silly moments)

PS: Adeline is now, proud owner of a heat-gun, some (can't reveal too much in case her hubs is reading this.....) jars of embossing powders, a versamark inkpad.... some paper stacks....and..
I'm BAD! (hangs head in shame).... I brought her scrapbook shopping (HAIZ!~ shakes head~)

ACE'S LOVE & ANGELA'S SWEETIE

Wednesday has become a crafting session at my place! They have officially become my "tu-di" (student.... 'disciple' is too s-c-ar-y a word... makes me feel OLD too!). I told them that they were to learn what I can teach them and then go 'SOAR' on their own... while I watched on with pride.... It is a great vision and had a nice ring to the words..... ...>breaking<>break<>broke!<>"pl-ang!"<
Uhmmm.... they said they will not leave me... NEVER! They said! They are going to haunt my Wednesdays and lurk about my scrapping stuff forever..... Mwuahahaha!

oooKKK--ay..... I love having these 2 lovely young ladies around..... I think....... =_=

This Wednesday, Ace worked very hard on another frame to showcase the love of her life... all the lovey-dovey is driving me a bit green.... Not with envy.... nope! not that! LOL! (ME gots me Tar-zan all of me own..muah!)  Anyways.... her frame, despite her initial frustration that the pieces were not "working" together, turned out really beautiful....

Angela, I discover, is a calm soul.... no ruffles, no fuss..... just worked steadily... steadily.... steadily.... (she says 3 is the magic number...... that works for embellishment...) She worked on a display piece of her best friend's *CUTiE* son.... She did a wonderful job of it! I think her friend is going to be pleasantly surprised and pleased with it.... lucky friend!
